Privacy Policy

Helm ("Helm," "we," "us") provides an app that offers reflective, AI-generated interpretations of dreams drawn from classical Shia Islamic sources. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

When you create an account and use Helm, we collect:

• Account information: your email address, password (stored securely by our authentication provider, Supabase — we never see it in plain text), and first and last name.
• Optional profile details: birthdate and gender, if you choose to provide them. These are used only to tailor interpretations, consistent with how classical interpreters considered a dreamer's circumstances — they are never required.
• Dream content: the text of the dreams you submit, along with any optional context you provide (how you felt, when the dream occurred, whether it recurred, and anything else happening in your life that you choose to share).
• Interpretation history: the interpretations generated for you, saved so you can revisit them later.
• Purchase information: your subscription and credit purchase history, handled by our payments provider, RevenueCat, and the App Store.
• Crash and performance data: if the app crashes or runs into an error, or to measure how long an interpretation takes to generate, our error-monitoring provider, Sentry, automatically collects technical diagnostic information (such as device type, OS version, and where in the app the issue occurred). This data is not linked to your account or identity, and it never includes the text of your dreams or life context.

We do not use any advertising or behavioral-analytics tools, and we do not collect advertising identifiers. Sentry is used solely for the crash and performance monitoring described above.

How We Use Your Information

• To generate your dream interpretations.
• To maintain your account and interpretation history.
• To process purchases and manage your subscription or interpretation credits.
• To respond to support requests you send us.
• To maintain the security and integrity of the app.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your dream content to train any AI model.

Third Parties We Share Data With

Generating an interpretation requires sharing the text of your dream (and any optional context you provide) with our AI provider so it can produce your interpretation. We use the following service providers, each of which processes data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments:

• Anthropic — receives your dream text and optional context to generate the interpretation.
• Pinecone — used to search relevant classical source material; receives search terms derived from your dream, not your full account identity.
• Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication; stores your account, profile, and dream history securely.
• RevenueCat — manages subscriptions and interpretation-credit purchases.
• Apple — processes payments made through the App Store.
• Sentry — receives crash reports and performance data to help us find and fix bugs; this data is not linked to your account and never includes dream or life-context content.

We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored with our database provider using industry-standard encryption in transit, and access to your dreams and account is restricted to your own authenticated account.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account and dream history for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. Deleting your account permanently erases your dreams, interpretations, and remaining interpretation credits, and cannot be undone.

Your Rights & Choices

• You can edit your name, email, and password at any time from your Account settings.
• You can request a copy of your data, or ask us questions about how it's handled, by contacting us below.
• You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.

Children's Privacy

Helm is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above.
